Into the Rapids: A CDO Whitewater Rafting Adventure.

After an awesome time in Camiguin, we all headed off to Cagayan de Oro. Our only reason for going to the City of Golden Friendship was to scare ourselves silly by whitewater rafting. So we contacted Kagay, CDO's premiere whitewater rafting outfitter, to be our guide.

Things to Remember:
  • Dress for rafting. A rash guard would be good.
  • Wear sunblock.
  • Bring food and water. I tell you, with all the paddling you'll be doing, you'll go hungry!
  • Put your valuables into a dry bag. You can leave your non-valuables in the jeepney.

It rained heavily that day so our adventure had extra drama to it -- the weather was so cold. Imagine being wet for 3 hours in a cold weather. But we tremendously enjoyed it. We shouted our lungs out at every rapid (just because we wanted to, not because we were really scared. haha). But I must say that there were few really scary rapids. Don't worry though because before you actually paddle away, there's a short briefing about safety and how to paddle correctly.

Kagay will provide two guides and both our guides were really good. They entertained us with their stories about the river and about rafting.

My friends and I had a blast! We enjoyed the whole experience. I would love to do it again, maybe, with my family next time.

Someone recently asked me if this was my craziest adventure. I said that the Plunge in Danao Bohol was still the craziest, so far. :)

We went back to Mallberry Suites extra happy having conquered the rapids of the CDO river. We washed up, had dinner at Cafe Laguna, and ended the day with a massage at Nuat Thai.

My friends and I love Nuat Thai. Everytime we visit Cebu, we all go to Nuat Thai! Imagine our excitement when we saw a Nuat Thai branch near our hotel.

When you are in CDO, drop by for some foot and body massage.
