Mutiara Bali.

Our two-bedroom suite villa.

The resort is about 30 minutes from the airport, about 15 minutes to Kuta, and about 10 minutes to the white sand Seminyak beach. It is also about 5 minutes by foot to all the trendy boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants.

Each villa has its own pool, manicured garden, a kitchen, airconditioned rooms with tv, dining area, and open-air bathrooms. Mutiara also has a spa, a gym, an outdoor jacuzzi, and a big pool.

We were greeted with fresh mango juice and warm towelettes when we arrived.

We were quite satisfied with Mutiara's service. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They also arranged transportation for us as we toured around Bali and when we went to Ubod. They made sure we were comfortable and happy.

The upstairs room of our villa.

We stayed in a two-bedroom villa and we were very pleased with it. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and beautiful. We loved the privacy most of all. Since we had our own space (and our own pool), we had the freedom to laugh out loud, talk our hearts out all night, and swim whenever we wanted to.

One of the open-air bathrooms in our villa. Yes, you take a shower with the sky as your roof.

There is something very liberating and relaxing about taking a bath under the sun or the stars. It is almost spiritual. And I think that this is exactly what every place and corner in Bali is all about -- a spiritual, peaceful, happy experience.

My travel buddies who make every trip special and fun and memorable.

Mutiara is a little piece of paradise within a paradise that is Bali. It is beautiful. And if I ever return to Bali in the future, I would certainly want to stay here again.

  6. Patricia: Hahaha! You are funny! But it feels quite liberating to actually take a bath in an open space!
