I was missing home and was craving for food from home when I found Hecky's lechon stall at the Rockwell food bazaar one weekend.
Hecky's lechon claims that their lechon is Cebu-style and in fact, pairs their lechon with vinegar (because that's how we do it in Cebu) instead of lechon sauce (or Mang Tomas). But I tell you, it's sooooo good, you won't need sauce or vinegar.
This is probably the yummiest lechon I've tried in Metro Manila. The skin is very crispy and the meat is so deliciously seasoned and very tender, it melts in your mouth. I consumed a lot in a one sitting! It was a total cholesterol catastrophe!
Price List:
- De Leche (10-15 pax) : Php4,300
- Extra Small (20-25 pax) : Php5,300
- Small (30-35 pax) : Php6,300
- Medium (40-45 pax) : Php7,300
- Large (60-70 pax) : Php8,300
- Extra Large (80++ pax) : Php9,300

Hecky's Lechon offers Cebu-style Lechon, but is not exactly roasted the "Cebu way". Hecky's Lechons are oven-baked. We are the first to use LPG-based lechon ovens, making our lechon non-carcinogenic. Because our lechons are oven-baked, they are also less fat. Our distinct lechon oven and secret roasting techniques ensure lechons that have considerably less fat, leaving the skin crispier, juicier and tastier even without any lechon sauce. Hecky's Lechons are also organic. We only roast hand-picked native free range pigs that eat the best that nature has to offer, such as coconut meat and corn. {grabbed from their website}

Ate ai, grabe ka mouth watering ng lechon. yum.
ReplyDeleteHi Kyle! It is! Yum, yum! :D
ReplyDeletei went to Robinsons Galleria to try some Hecky's Lechon for lunch today, ordering a 1/4 kilo takeout. To my dismay, the person preparing my order just tossed a chunk of fat (looks almost an unwanted part) onto my styro container and then covered the top with some skin (as if to make it look more respectable). If I were to conservatively estimate it, my order was 80% fat (no exaggeration). Imagine having a sliver of skin, and then a layer of pure fat and then another sliver of meat about as thick as the skin. Also I noticed that my order was less than the 1/4 kilo that I should have gotten, although I do not have a weighing scale to prove this. They didn't weight it in front of me to prove that it was indeed 1/4 kilo. To make matters even worst, they charged me an extra 5 pesos for the styro. Back at the office me and my husband shared the lechon; and in fairness the taste is good. However it was not THAT good; I can say its a least equal to some of the more decent lechons we've had. I was just so disappointed and will definitely not come back to Hecky's.
ReplyDeleteHi Grace,
DeleteI do apologize for having such a terrible experience in our branch in Galleria. We, on our part as a franchisee of Hecky's lechon would relay this message to the franchise company for improvement and quality purposes. On our part, we would instruct our employees in Galleria to triple check the chopped lechon they are serving and weigh it in front of you-our customers. Regarding the P5 charge for the styro, we just followed the regular practice of all food establishments in the Galleria food court who all charge P5 for take out orders. To shed a light on this issue, I want to touch based with you regarding this issue and further give you a free 1/4 kg of Hecky's Lechon. Hoping to hear from you soon.
Hi Anonymous (I wish you left your name),
ReplyDeleteYour experience was really sad. Maybe, the reason you didn't enjoy your Hecky's was that they didn't put enough 'laman' into your styro. That was really not nice of them.
I do agree with you, they lack good customer service. The last time I bought from them, I got really pissed off, too, with how lousy they treat customers.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeletedid you say that you went there on April 0f 2011? As far as I know, Hecky's branch in Galleria just opened last July or August of 2011. Let me know. Thanks
Super yum!
ReplyDeleteI have a terrible experience with one of the Franchisee of Hecky's, who he happens to be the owner's brother. I ordered the extra small size lechon and nagsebo ang buong
ReplyDeleteLechon as soon as it was chopped! It was really embarrassing to the guests. I requested for a slah down of the price by 50% as I would not have been willing to pay the full price for a masebo lechon, arguing that competitors like Elar and PingPing didn't provide that quality for almost the same price, but I was refused and only an apology was extended as it was company policy daw not to refund any money. They attributed the poor food quality to the tardiness of the lechon's arrival. I ordered it to be ready for pick-up at the WhitePlanes branch and by 11am, it still wasn't there yet. Although the franchisor did acknowledge that it was their fault, he still didn''t want to give me a discount (I wasn't even requesting for a full refund!)! I am considering bringing this matter to the DTI for consumer complaint.
Hi Grace,
DeleteI hear your sentiments Grace. Better e-mail them at heckyslechon@gmail.com or contact their hotline so that they can do something on what happened to you. Quality and customer satisfaction must always prevail beyond getting a profit.
hello,
ReplyDeleteyesterday, after hearing sunday mass at Eastwood Chapel, my family went to the Hecky's branch at the Eastwood Cybermall. Bearing an ensogo voucher which entitled us to a half kilo lechon, lumpia con lechon and pancit, we proceeded to the branch to have lunch. The place was hot so i requested the staff to open the aircon, which they did, in fairness, the staff were accommodating. But the problem was the LECHON itself,"matabang, makunat ang balat, malamig,as if hindi bagong luto", the lumpia con lechon didn't taste of any lechon inside, though the pancit was ok. I was really disappointed, in fact, i envied the people eating Mang Inasal right beside Hecky's. I guess the media hype for this product was too much. What i experienced was the exact opposite of "skin is very crispy and the meat is so deliciously seasoned and very tender, it melts in your mouth". I have tasted CNT and Zubuchon of Cebu and that of Cagayan de Oro. Theirs were so tasty it just really needs vinegar, but Hecky's needs the real lechon sauce to have taste.
I hope for the best for Hecky's because it's still early to make improvements.
I'm sorry about your experience with Hecky's, Noel. You can write or call them directly and tell them about your experience.
ReplyDeleteI did love the lechon I bought from them in Powerplant. So I guess, they are not very consistent in checking the quality of their product.
Again, do let them know about your experience. :)
