Last Christmas, my friends and I spent our annual Christmas dinner at the Old Vine Grille at Mckinley Hills. We reserved the function room and we really liked that we had the entire space to ourselves. It was cozy and beautiful. I loved their brown comfortable chairs and brick walls. We spent almost the entire night there -- talking and laughing and taking pictures and exchanging gifts. Oh, we loved the food, too!
We had Tessie Tomas Salad (Php235 single, Php550 family). It had creamy balsamic dressing and loads of prawns, shitake mushrooms, salmon, and crunchy greens. It was delicious. Note to self: find photo of the salad.
Barbequed Baby Back Ribs (Php420).
Tender, smoky, and falls off the bones. A must-try.
Chef's Quarter Steak. (Php420 single, Php575 family).
US Beef Steak marinated in chef's special blend. I'm not a steak person, but my friends absolutely loved this!
Stir-fried Seafood Paella (Php250 single, Php430 family).
I've had better paella, but this one's not so bad either.
We ordered so many other entrees that night. We had fish and another pork dish. What I'm trying to say is that we all loved Old Vine Grille. The service was fast and awesome. The staff were friendly.
We had desserts, too!
Banana Langka Crepe Samurai.
I've totally forgotten what this was called, but I do remember this was leche flan with crispy crepes in between.
Last Christmas, a group of people were in costumes roaming around piazza venice. It almost felt like we were in Italy or in a masquerade ball. Their presence added to the ambiance. My friends and I had our pictures taken with them. But these girls asked a photograph with D. Their costumes were fantastic! It was such a lovely enchanted evening.
We ended the evening exchanging gifts. Here, my friends + D posed with my gifts for them. :)
I love Christmas. And I always look forward to our annual Christmas dinner. There's always a lot of laughter and gifts and hugs and food and love to go around.
