Samal Island | Hof Gorei.

Another resort we went to in Samal Island was Hof Gorei. I love this resort. It was incredibly charming and rustic. There was something so relaxing about this place. Maybe, it was the beautiful view of the sea or the soothing water in the jacuzzi or the familiar sound of roosters in the morning. Whatever it was, Hof Gorei certainly captured my heart.

This is Hof Gorei from a distance. It has a white sand shore, a beautifully-made port, and huts scattered all over its hilly terrain.

What I will always remember about Hof Gorei is their awesome service. Staff members were always around to take care of our needs. They were quick and friendly. They are obviously committed to make every guest happy.

I like Hof Gorei's unassuming entrance. You wouldn't feel intimidated here.

The resort has a pool carefully tucked between coconut trees. It also has a jacuzzi, about 205 steps up on a hill. I swear I lost 10 pounds that day we went to dip in the jacuzzi.

This is the view from our room. I love how it seems like everything is randomly placed -- trees, huts, flowers.

We stayed in this room and I think this is called the Gorei Junior Suite. This could fit in 6 people. All of us girls stayed here. The rooms are clean and quite charming. It has aircon, fan, ref, and a tv. Although the bathrooms are small and basic, but they are very clean.

Rates:

Hillside Round Huts 1,2,3: starts at Php3,300/room/night
Leaning Hut Room (non-aircon): starts at Php2,700/room/night
Gorei Guest House (Junior Suite): starts at Php3,850/room/night
Gorei Guest House 1,2,3: starts at Php3,850/room/night
Pinzgau Chalet | Rooms 1,2,3: starts at Php3,850/room/night
Beachfront Bungalows: starts at Php4,400/room/night
Buddy House (good for 10): starts at Php11,000/room/night

Hof Gorei serves the most delicious food! Everything is organic. They grow their own fruits and vegetables. Food is cooked and served with so much thought and love. Check out more photos over at Facebook for all the food that was served to us on our last night at the resort!

Did I already say how much I love the rustic feel of Hof Gorei? One of the things I love about this resort is that the animals are free to roam around. And oh, they have a fish pond, too. Tilapia, anyone? :D

You'd love Samal Island. :) It's not a party place, but if you seek solitude and rest, and a little bit of adventure, this is the perfect place. :)
