Romulo Cafe | A Birthday Celebration.

I've been absent for quite awhile and I miss this blog. But I'm back! Before I continue with my Beijing entries (yes, I've more stories and photos to share about Beijing), let me share some of my birthday photos with you. Yep, I turned a year older last November 7! I had a little celebration few days before my birthday with family and few of my friends. I wanted to have all my friends that day, but a lot of them live in other cities and countries.

My friend Chelo suggested I do a travel-themed party (which I think was brilliant), but sadly, I didn't have enough time to pull one off. So I decided to have a really simple celebration. I'm really lucky because CBB and my friends volunteered to coordinate some things for me.

It was such a magical night. I received a lot of hugs and good wishes. I was surrounded by family and good friends.

We had the party at Romulo Cafe. The moment I entered this restaurant, I knew immediately that this was the perfect place. I totally loved the interiors! And it was such a bonus that their food was really good and the service, excellent! I think though that they should keep photographs on the wall to a minimum, especially at the garden room. Having photos of people in the background staring at you looks kind of creepy.

If you love Filipino food and you need a place to celebrate your milestones, Romulo Cafe won't disappoint.

Here's sharing some photos of my birthday celebration.

We placed film cameras on each table (my friends Edeena & Joy's idea).
My guests had so much fun taking pictures of each other!
All the photos turned out wonderful!

Pinoy Nachos.
Kamote and Taro Chips drizzled with keso puti, keso de bola, and tomato.

Crispy Crablets.
Served with Pinakurat vinegar.

Because I cannot NOT have lechon on my birthday.
Roasted by Manong's Lechon, owned by a college friend.
This Lechon de Leche: P4,200
Corkage fee for the lechon (range): P2,500-P3,500

Pancit Puti.
Bihon noodles cooked in olive oil & garlic chips + shrimp, chicken, and hard-boiled eggs.

The General's Chicken.
Baked chicken with special herbs and topped with garlic.

Tito Greg's Kare-Kare.
Oxtail and tripe stew in a peanut-based sauce, served with steamed vegetables & bagoong.

Boneless Crispy Pata.
Served with eggplant-and-tomato bagoong sauce.

Bagnet Pakbet.
Mixed vegetables sautéed in bagoong, topped with bagnet.

Flying Tilapia.
Deep-fried tilapia with three sauces: chili-garlic, honey-bagoong, and soy vinegar.

Cakes.

We also had soup and Pomelo Salad.

Romulo Cafe offers party packages.
You can choose items from their menu for your buffet spread.

This is a gift from my friends Val and Grace.
The best cupcakes I've tried so far.
I should ask them where they got this!

My birthday cake was also a gift from my friends.
Romulo Cafe was very kind to waive the corkage fee.

First photo: My Cebu-based Mom and sister came over to celebrate with me!
Had chocolates with customized wrappers for favors.

My friend Mecielo who has a voice of an angel sang "You've Got a Friend."
And because I have the coolest friends, everyone joined in the singing!

It was such a happy, happy night!

Grateful.

  3. Are the cupcakes from Cupcake Lab? They sure look similar to the mini ones from that Podium cupcake store. If they are, they are really yummy!

  5. Anonymous: I haven't asked my friends where they got the cupcakes. But maybe it is from Cupcake Lab because they work just beside Podium. :D

    1. Hi Suzette! The buffet package I got was for 30 people and the food was actually more than enough. But then again, I had lechon, so that maybe the reason why we had leftovers. :)

  7. Hi. May I know how much did it cost?

    1. Hi! The cost actually would depend on number of guests and the package you will get from them. I suggest you call Romulo Cafe so you get details from them. They have different packages and menus for big groups/parties. : )
