10 Dove Street.

A few weeks before I went home to Cebu for a short vacation, my friend Joy mentioned she was dropping by the Queen City on her way to Bohol, right after her Bali trip. I was thrilled! We were both going to be in Cebu on the same dates, so we decided to meet up. Her itchy feet took her to so many places this summer and I'm glad she included my hometown in her itinerary.

We met up for lunch and I took her to Everything Yummy [ food + love ], one of my favorite places in Cebu. It has become some sort of tradition for me to eat here whenever I'm in town. Joy and I gorged on those incredibly delicious pork ribs and talked a lot in between.

We headed off to 10 Dove Street for dessert. I've been to this quaint little cafe some years ago and I've been wanting to go back. Taking Joy there was the perfect opportunity.

10 Dove Street serves set meals. You choose from their menu a soup, a salad, a main course (mostly sandwiches), and a slice of cake -- all for only P200.00 (excluding beverage). Reasonable, if you ask me.

But Joy and I went there for dessert, so we only ordered cake and coffee. And I tell you, their cakes are divine!

Joy and I both had cappuccino.

I had Chocolate Decadence. Moist and just perfect.

Joy had Fruit Medley.
I love this! If happiness was a cake, this would be it!

I'm not a cake person, but I really love their cakes.
The next time I visit, I should try their Pandan Cake.
A lot of people have been gushing about it.

Small and charming.

I'd like to come here at odd hours when there are less people.

And this is my friend Joy. She's a doctor in mathematics and a math professor
(at one point she was the department head) in one of the best schools in the country.
She was nominated Scientist of the Year some years back. Despite her achievements,
she has remained very grounded. It is inspiring.

  6. It is a bit far from the main road. Drive, or take a cab.
