Mom's 60th | Diamond Suites.

My Mom on her 60th birthday celebration.
She's aging gracefully.

My Mom turned 60 last August. My siblings and I threw a little party for her to celebrate this milestone. It was such a happy night! She was surrounded by her closest family and friends.

We had the celebration at the Diamond Suites and Residences. The place was perfect for us. Pretty and unassuming, just the way we wanted it. Plus, it's in the heart of the city, just across Ayala Center-Cebu. Very convenient.

My favorite part of our stay in this hotel was the service. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. When I had problems connecting my laptop to the projector, for example, they went out of their way to buy an adapter for my macbook. When it still didn't work, they lent me their laptop. How wonderful of them, right?

We stayed overnight after the party because we figured, we'd all be too tired to drive back home to the boondocks of Consolacion. And although the rooms we stayed in were very basic (this is a business hotel), they were very clean.

The beds and pillows were fluffy and mabango.

On one corner, there's a small table and a chair.
Very basic, I told you.

There's TV, wifi, coffee, and a small ref.
Sadly, I totally forgot to take a photo of the bathrooms!
But I assure you, the bathrooms were clean. Basic. But clean.

Mom's party was held at the hotel's banquet room located at the ground floor. My sisters and I decorated the place on our own. Yes, we love to DIY our parties. We put up the balloons, decorated the tables, arranged the flowers, handmade all the centerpieces.

Here's sharing some photos of that incredible night.

We placed a welcome/registration table at the entrance.

We collected bottles from our palahubog neighbor (true story!),
decorated them and used them as flower vases. We placed Mom's old
photos + flowers + bread sticks as centerpieces.

Mom's cake and the buffet spread.
Food was good! And the hotel's dining staff were all very attentive.

To open the party, Mom danced with her officemates.
Some of our family and friends sang, gave speeches, danced.
We also had a band who played 70s music all night!

Dionne was the emcee that night. She danced, too.

The little ones also danced for their Mamu.

My canada-based sister and her family sent in a video for Mom.
We also compiled video messages from friends we presented during dinner.

Mom's highschool classmates flew in from Iligan.
She was surrounded by people who love her.
There were lots of conversations and laughter and
good food and photo ops, too! So much happiness that night!

A few days after the celebration, the event came out in Cebu Daily News.
Thank you once again, NM and CDN!
